Drive: 6 miles, one way dirt road

We took a detour on our way to hike Lost Lake in Yellowstone, and drove the Blacktail Plateau. The drive was breathtaking. The views are extensive and grand. Don't forget to look behind you to the west as you drive. You can see the mountains over near Mammoth, and the valleys in between(featured in photo above). It takes time out of your drive to go on this loop, but it is worth it so plan ahead.
