Gneiss Trail
Gneiss Trail
When:Every Year
Who:The Family
Wildlife:Large Variety
Trail:Out and back distance varies, time varies
The Gneiss Trail is a 14 mile one way trail that starts off the 191 and ends in the park near the Madison River. Our family likes to hike along this trail as an out and back that varies in distance. We usually hike out to Sandy Butte where we can get a good view of Duck Creek (1.5 miles in). This hike starts in some beautiful aspens and pines before opening up to large meadows of wildflowers with vast views. The hike is flat, so it's easy to take kids on.
